CFD Modeling

Moffitt offers Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling to design the most effective and efficient ventilation solutions. A CFD model shows the air velocity, heat movement, and pressure changes within a building. It is particularly useful when comparing different system options (Roof Vents vs. Fans) and for optimizing the equipment layout. CFD modeling is especially useful for determining temperatures at specific locations and elevations throughout a facility.

Before & After Comparison

  • "Before" shows the plant's old, inefficient ventilation system. Note the number of roof fans (represented by the cubes on the roof).
  • "After" illustrates the impact of the new ventilation system. The additional cubes, and their placement, improve warm air exhaust and reduce the temperatures in the building.

*Please note that equipment shapes are for modeling and illustrative purposes only. Size of vents in model do not reflect actual size and shape of the equipment.
