Now Hiring – Design Engineer

Purpose of Job

The Design Engineer is part of the Design Engineering Team, which is responsible for product design and support. This position will require about 15-25% overnight travel to manufacturing facilities and installation locations in the U.S. for on-site technical support.

Duties and Responsibilities

Product Design and Development
1. Structural, Mechanical, Performance, Codes & Standards, Controls, Testing
Quality Control
1. Reviewing fabrication processes and results for adherence to required product specifications
2. Review outsourced products or sub-assemblies for adherence to required product specifications
3. On-site and off-site installation training for subcontractor network
Documentation
1. Technical drawings (approval, fabrication, and installation)
2. General Product Technical Specifications
3. Installation, operation, and maintenance manuals
4. Bill of Materials and product cost analysis
Technical Support
1. Develop resources and tools for the Sales team to quickly and accurately specify products for specific projects and applications.
2. Troubleshooting warranty issues via phone and on-site diagnostics when needed.
3. Internal consulting: Answer questions regarding product performance, capacity, and application.

Skill/Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university (or equivalent experience)
Software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD LT or Draftsight, ANSYS Mechanical
Technical writing for technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
Maturity to properly represent the company to customers and subcontractors.
Interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability to solicit input from multiple sources and determine the best technical solution.
