Power of +1

To reach our goals, we will have to add to what we do today. The Power of +1 encourages us to take at least one more step in every action we take.

We must go above and beyond for our customers, our projects, and our company.

“Is there a manufacturer or contractor we should reach out to?”
"Who else in your company should I build a relationship with?”
“Does this project have a product you haven’t requested from us?"
"Do you have a need for HVLS or air circulation products?”
Do a cold call while you're in the area.
Reach out to someone you sort of know on LinkedIn.
“Do you have a plan for maintenance after installation?”
“Have you considered spare parts to have on hand?”
“Is this the very best solution for our customer?”
“Is there a question we can answer before the customer asks?”
“This solves your problem in the summer, but what is your plan in the winter?”
"Are there any workers in the building that won't benefit from this solution?"
Contact an alternate vendor or subcontractor to get competitive pricing.
“Is this the most cost-effective design to reach the customers goals.”
Ask if the GC will have a crane that we can use to reduce overall project cost.
"Can our MCI partner add items like access platforms and safety barricades to our scope while on site?"

Celebrating The Power of +1

Create your own Power of +1 questions and actions and share with the team. Add a note on what Power of +1 item helped secure an order, enhance a process, deliver customer service, or moved us to the next level.

 

This is only effective if we use it consistently. We’d like to count the “+1 actions” throughout the year and celebrate them next January.
