Reducing the Impact of Tariffs on Industrial Ventilation

Here at Moffitt, we have weathered the effects of tariffs on the global supply chain since 1961. This has provided us with extensive experience that allows us to quickly adjust and adapt to fluctuating and unpredictable markets. With the uncertainty that dominates our current global economy, now is the time to act while the tariffs are still in limbo. Our manufacturing agility is vital to ensure we can continue meeting our customers’ needs with high-quality industrial ventilation solutions that have minimal impact from additional tariffs. Over the years, we have strategically developed manufacturing in diverse geographic locations that help us maintain consistent supply and reduce the impact of tariffs on our customers.

Moffitt Has Multiple Manufacturing Locations

It goes back to the well-known principle, “Don’t rely on a single source for everything.” In manufacturing, this means sourcing materials and components from multiple suppliers or regions. Any disruption or price increase upstream in the supply chain can cause delays or cost increases further down, all the way to the end consumer. All it takes is one bad storm to bring a narrow supply chain to a grinding halt. Businesses that use limited supply chains will feel a more significant impact of tariffs than those with alternative supplier options.

At Moffitt, we maintain a diverse supply network that allows us to manufacture and source our components from trusted suppliers in various locations. While we import some components from specialized facilities, approximately 70% are sourced from domestic US-based manufacturing plants. This enables us to rapidly adjust to any disruption in the supply chain and source from the most cost-effective supplier for the given economic state.

Weather the Uncertainty with Moffitt

Higher tariffs tend to have a ripple effect across the economy, causing industrial property owners to consider postponing building maintenance and ventilation upgrades at the expense of the workers’ well-being and productivity. Today, this can create additional problems and costs for companies as more states adopt stricter indoor heat regulations, forcing industrial facilities to become compliant or face potential OSHA violations.

At Moffitt, we’ve taken steps to reduce the impact of tariffs based on our past experiences and strive to provide cost-effective solutions to help ensure worker safety and comfort. However, with the current threat of widespread tariffs, some price increase may be necessary.  We’re offering free site inspections and system design solutions to help industrial property owners become compliant as quickly as possible.
